A sporting gesture

MUMS nursed grazed knees and bruised heads after taking part in a special football match against their children.

Birchwood Primary School football team challenged their mums to a match to raise money for a host of football equipment, including track suits and drink bottles.

All the youngsters were very impressed with the mums' performance during the match, which was held at the school in Russett Way, Swanley.

A spokesman from the school said: "The mums played an excellent game and were only just beaten by four goals to one.

"After the match the boys said they had to admit that the mums played well."
