Air ambulance lands in Swanley Park after child hit by car

A child was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car.

The air ambulance was called to Swanley after the vehicle hit the youngster at around 3.10pm in Leydenhatch Lane yesterday.

The emergency chopper was pictured landing at Swanley Park, but left shortly after.

Kent Police confirmed the child's injures were described as minor.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at around 3.10pm on Sunday 21 August, to a collision involving a car and a child in Leydenhatch Lane, Swanley.

"Officers and paramedics attended the scene and child was taken to a local hospital for treatment to injuries described as minor."

An air ambulance spokesman said: “A helicopter from Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) attended a patient involved in a road traffic collision in Swanley on 21st August 2022.

"Our crew arrived on scene at 15:18 where they worked with SECAmb and Kent Police to help treat the patient who was taken to hospital by road.”
