Competitors at the start of the Swanley Christmas Caper

Andy Rayner (21min 38sec) of Blackheath & Bromley Harriers was too quick for Peter Tucker (22.22) of Ravens School Runners and Dean Lacy (22.45) of Cambridge Harriers in the Swanley Christmas Caper.

Seasonal fare was on offer to the swiftest of the 526 finishers and Rayner’s reward was a plump turkey for the table.

Former Dartford Harrier Elaine Murty (25.10) was first woman in her new Blackheath & Bromley Harriers strip.

Clare Elms (W45, 25.42) was a close second and Sara Cunningham (27.42) of Petts Wood Runners finished in third.
