Police appeal after fatal crash near Dartford

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Canterbury man died in a crash on the A2 near Dartford last night.

Officers were called to reports of a single vehicle collision just after 10pm on the London-bound carriageway of the A2, on the slip road off for the M25.

A blue Ford Transit van is believed to have collided with the nearside crash barrier before rolling. A 20-year-old man from Canterbury died at the scene and his next of kin have been made aware.

A second man sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics. One person was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and remains in custody.

Ambulance and fire crews also attended the crash, which happened on the London-bound carriageway.

Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit attended and have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
