Drivers have been facing long delays on the M25 with traffic queues of four miles approaching the Dartford Tunnel.

Travel time was said to be around 45 minutes on the anti-clockwise carriageway between Junction 1A at Dartford and the Junction 31 at Lakeside in Essex.

Congestion was reported to be halfway towards Junction 3 at the M20 Swanley Interchange.

One of the tunnels was closed but has now been reopened and traffic has eased.

Kent Police have been approached for further comment.
