Bikers face anxious wait

RIDERS at a Kent motorcycle club will have to wait another fortnight to find out whether their track is to be kept open.

Riverside Motocross Club in Dartford has applied for a permit to use its practice facility in Joyce Green Farm, Joyce Green Lane for another three years, but environment and wildlife groups oppose the move because they say the track disrupts natural habitats and creates noise pollution.

Kent Police has come out in full support of the proposals, because it says sites such as this help to keep nuisance bikers off our streets and green areas.

The matter first went before Dartford council on September 6, and was then discussed at a site meeting. The club will finally discover its fate at another meeting of the council's development control board, on Thursday, October 11.
