Dartford’s Kids Safe scheme celebrated its tenth birthday today with a visit from the Mayor of Dartford Avtar Sandhu.

The Kids Safe scheme was set up in July 2004 to help reunite children and parents who had become separated from each other while out shopping in Dartford.

Lost children and parents can seek help from staff in shops displaying the Kids Safe sticker in their window.

Dartford’s Kids Safe scheme celebrated its tenth birthday today with a visit from the Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Avtar Sandhu.

Members of staff in the shop will then use the town’s radio network to contact security and the police to help look for and reunite the family.

The Kids Safe scheme was set up by Dartford council in partnership with Kent Police, the Orchards Shopping Centre, Asda and various Dartford town centre businesses.
