Four fire crews were called to the Hilton Hotel in Dartford after a small fire broke out in an air conditioning unit.
A height vehicle was also sent to Masthead Close as a precaution.
Staff at the hotel evacuated all guests and firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, found the fire and contained it to the air conditioning unit in the fifth floor bedroom.
They used a fan to clear a small amount of smoke, but there were no reported injuries.
It was put out by 9pm last night.
