Dartford Crossing reopens after police called to broken down vehicle

The Dartford Bridge was shut temporarily while police responded to an incident involving a broken down vehicle.

Officers were called to attend the QE2 Bridge which was closed between junctions 31A and 1A heading from Essex towards Kent.

The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge in Dartford has been closed due to a police incident

A diversion route was put place while Essex Police attended.

As of 7.30am all lanes have since reopened and there are no reports of delays.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We were called to the Queen Elizabeth Bridge just before 6.30am today.

"Two lanes were closed whilst a vehicle was recovered.

"The bridge was reopened shortly after."
