A MAN, described as the Legend of Dartford, died of hypothermia after sleeping rough on the street, an inquest has heard.
Kevin Chapman, affectionately known as Mad Kev, died shortly after being found in Suffolk Road, Dartford, on February 16, 2008.
The 49-year-old was a familiar face around the borough and had a home in Trevithick Drive, Temple Hill, but chose to live on the streets.
The inquest heard that Mr Chapman had originally refused treatment by paramedics but when police took him home he collapsed and was rushed to hospital where he died.
Coroner Christopher Sutton-Mattocks recorded a verdict of accidental death.
