Delays on QEII Bridge after lorry broke down on Dartford Crossing

Drivers faced long delays heading towards the Dartford tunnel today.

Both tunnels were closed just before 11am for around 20 minutes, after a vehicle reportedly broke down.

At one point, traffic stretched back to the Darenth Interchange.

The congestion had cleared by 1pm.

Earlier, there were also long delays heading into Kent after a lorry blew a tyre on the Dartford Crossing.

Two lanes were closed on the QEII Bridge, causing traffic to grind to a halt just before 11am.

All lanes have since reopened and traffic is moving.
