Motorists are reporting eight mile tailbacks on the M25 heading towards the Dartford Crossing.

A truck broke down at the crossing at around 10.30am, forcing the east tunnel to be closed and creating a huge backlog of traffic anticlockwise between junctions four and 1A.

The tunnel is now re-open, but Highways England is warning drivers to expect delays of up to 40 minutes.
