Expect delays as emergency repairs carried out in Dartford Tunnel on M25

Emergency repairs to one of the tunnels at the Dartford Crossing caused delays today.

Two lanes were closed Essex bound from J1A A206 (Dartford) to J31 A1306 (Lakeside / Purfleet) early this morning.

The work affected the left hand tunnel which was closed while the urgent repair works were carried out.

The right hand tunnel which is the taller of the two and accommodates higher vehicles, remained open.

Motorists revealed on social media later this morning that both tunnels were operating fine.

Highways England has been asked to comment.
