Five engines and a bulk water carrier were at the scene until about 7am to tackle the fire.

The service is using main and hose reel jets and water from a hydrant in an attempt to put out the blaze.

The cause is believed to be accidental after controlled burning in a skip ignited nearby rubbish and spread to the neighbouring outbuilding.

The earlier advice to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution is no longer in place.
