Four vehicles crashed on the A2 near Northfleet this evening injuring at least two people.

Kent Police was called just before 5.30pm to a collision involving four vehicles on the coast-bound carriageway of the A2.

The accident happened close to the Northfleet and Ebsfleet turn off.

Two people were taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from chest, spine and rib injuries.

None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.

The accident caused long tailbacks to the M25 and was closed while the smashed vehicles were recovered.

It is now open.
