Traffic has started to clear on the M25 after breakdowns by Dartford Crossing and on QE2 bridge

Two breakdowns left the Dartford Crossing in chaos.

A broken down lorry just before the tunnel in Kent and another break down on the bridge coming in to the county resulted in queues building from 7am.

Traffic has now begaun to clear, although all lanes had been re-opened at the time of the incident, motorists heading out of Kent were facing congestion to Junction 3 for the M20 Swanley Interchange and those approaching the QE2 Bridge were backed up to Junction 30 for Lakeside.

Police have been contacted for details.
