Pensioner William Blowey of Downs Avenue died after collision with car near to his home

A pensioner who died after being hit by a car in Dartford has been named.

William Blowey, 84, was hit close to his home in Downs Avenue, Dartford at around 8.10am on July 1.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, and flowers were laid close to the crash, in Park Road.

The driver of the car, a silver Volvo saloon, was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with injuries which were thought to be minor.

Park Road was closed until 3.30pm while officers from the serious collision investigation unit carried out investigations.

The road has a 30mph limit and links two of Dartford’s busiest roads – East Hill and Princes Road coming off the A2.
