Illegal immigrants arrested at two local restaurants

Lowfield Street, Dartford

Three illegal immigrants in the Dartford area have been arrested at local restaurants by the UK Border Agency.

One 23-year-old Bangladeshi man was arrested at the Green Spice Restaurant, Green Street, Green Road, Darenth after overstaying his visa.

Two more men aged 20 and 42 were arrested at the Radhuny Indian Cuisine in Lowfield Street, Dartford They have both overstayed their visas and were working illegally.

They will remain in UK Border Agency detention awaiting removal from the UK.

Karyn Dunning, head of the Local Immigration Team in Kent said as well as illegal workers they are targeting employers who fuel illegal immigration and undercut law-abiding businesses.

Both businesses face fines up to £10,000 for each illegal worker.
