No we didn't get mugged off - Jack Fincham, the cheeky pen salesman from Kent, has been crowned the winner of Love Island 2018 with girlfriend Dani Dyer.

Fincham, 26, from Swanley, and Dyer, 21, from Essex, were the odds-on favourites with the bookies to win the ITV2 show's £50,000 prize.

Jani, as they have become known among fans, beat runners up Laura Anderson and Paul Knops to win the programme's fourth series, which has drawn the channel's record audience of 2.9 million.

Jack becomes the second person from Kent to win the show, after Gravesend’s Cara De La Hoyde in 2016, with her recent fiancé Nathan Massey.

Speaking to Caroline Flack, pen salesman Jack admitted how lucky he was to be paired with Dani on the first day of the series.

He said: “We've stayed together from day one and it's been amazing."

The pair's only real struggle came when they had to spend a week apart while the boys were sent to rival villa Casa Amor - where Jack had to spend a week alongside ex-fling Ellie Jones from Chatham.

He said: "When I was at Casa Amor I was so down. I didn't realise how much I would miss her (Dani).

"I thought when I was there, you know what, I love her."

Later he joked: "Living with her will be the biggest test.

"I'll miss waking up to so many people, it's been a different experience."

Barmaid Dani, daughter of the EastEnders actor and hardman Danny Dyer, mentioned how excited she is to be starting her life with Jack.

She added: "We're going to be house hunting straight away. We're so excited.

“We wont spend as much time together, so the normality will be different.

"I'm still lost for words. I've never been in the final of anything.

"My highlight was when Jack told me he loved me, all the ups and downs in here have made it amazing."

The duo were early favourites to win the show and beat Laura and Paul who came second, with Kaz and Josh in third and Megan and Wes in fourth.

The finale of the series saw couples write a declaration of love to their partners.

In Dani's penned letter, she gushed: "Jack when I first entered the villa eight weeks ago, I never imagined I'd meet someone as special as you.

"We've already made so many special memories and I've had the summer of my life in here and owe so much of that to you.

"I'm so lucky to have met you and I can't wait for our life together."

In response, Jack said: "I honestly feel like im one of the luckiest people alive to find a girl as beautiful, caring and as funny as you.

"Getting to know you has been one of the most wonderful things to have happened in my life.

"Firstly you're an absolute sort, I've never seen someone wear an eye-mask like it.

"I've never met anyone like you."

"I now know what it's like to be in love with someone..." - Jack Fincham

The usually composed and confident salesman had to pause, as he got emotional, before adding: "I'm getting emotional. I can't do it.

"I now know what it's like to be in love with someone.

"I love you so much Dani."

After the emotional declarations had finished all of the finalists took part in the traditional pool jump, soaking their pristine dresses and suits.
