Honours were even in the clash between League 1’s top two sides at Elland Road on Saturday.

Jermaine Beckford came closest to breaking the deadlock for Leeds when the game was only nine minutes old. He got clear of the visiting defence, only to fire his shot wide.

At the other end Jonjo Shelvey (pictured) had the Addicks’ best chance, but he headed the ball wide.

Charlton, who included Sam Sodje in their starting line-up for the first time since he re-signed for the club, produced a battling display and were the better side in the second half.
