Drivers facing rush hour delays on M25 near Dartford Crossing after tunnel closure

Drivers suffered with long delays at the Dartford Crossing this morning after a tunnel was reportedly closed to allow a large vehicle through.

There was very slow traffic on the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25, from junction 31 for West Thurrock all the way back to junction 3 for Swanley, after the right-hand tunnel was closed earlier.

Reports suggest the tunnel had been closed while larger vehicles were escorted through the tunnel. No accidents or break downs were reported.

Motorists were advised to allow extra time for their journeys.

The congestion is easing.
