There are severe delays on the M25 due to a trailer blocking the Dartford Tunnel.

Two lanes are closed on the motorway due to the trailer, which is blocking the eastbore tunnel.

There are currently up to two miles of delays on the anticlockwise carriageway between Junction 1A for Dartford and Junction 31 for Lakeside.

The right-hand tunnel is closed, leaving the smaller left-hand tunnel to cater for all motorists travelling into Essex.

A National Highways spokesman said: "The northbound east bore tunnel at the Dartford Crossing is closed due to a trailer becoming detached.

"Traffic is being diverted via the west tunnel. Height restrictions are in place. Please allow extra time for your journey if travelling in the area."
