The main carriageway of the M25 has reopened after a lorry jackknifed and blocked three lanes.

Traffic was held on the anti-clockwise carriageway near J1a for the A282 and Crossways Boulevard in Dartford.

Police officers helped recover the lorry, which was sideways across lanes one, two and three (of four) heading towards the Dartford Tunnels.

The incident happened near the Dartford Tunnel.

The right-hand tunnel (the higher of the two tunnels) was closed, and an up and over diversion was place.

It reopened at 7.10am, but delays continued until 9.30am.
