A2 closed coastbound between A2018 and M25/A282 due to man falling from a bridge onto the carriageway near Dartford

A man has fallen off a bridge onto the A2 carriageway.

The A2 coastbound has been closed between the A2018 and the M25/A282 for the Dartford crossing because of the incident, causing major tailback queues.

The carriageway was fully closed earlier, to allow the air ambulance to land.

The man is reported to have suffered serious injuries and has been taken to a London hospital.

Kent Police were called at 8.04am this morning.

The Highways Agency have advised road users to consider alternative routes.
