Police seek man known to frequent Dartford after pensioner scammed out of £4,800

A man believed to frequently visit the Dartford area is wanted by police in connection with a fraud.

Police in Sutton wish to speak to the man after an 83 year old pensioner of Bedford Road, Worcester Park was scammed out of almost £5,000 last month.

Police wish to speak to a man in connection with a £4,800 fraud.

He answered his door to a male caller on Friday November 6 at 3pm and was told his drains needed repairing at a cost of £4,800.

The caller gave the resident a lift to his bank in Sutton Town Centre and was asked not to say that the money was for building repair work, but rather that it was for a friend or relative.

The resident withdrew the full amount and gave the money to the caller, who left after driving the resident home and is yet to return.

The man is believed to frequent the Dartford area.
