People on roof of Dawn to Dusk Nursery

A nursery has gone into lockdown after two people got onto the roof of the building.

Police confirmed a man and a woman were involved in the incident, which is taking place at Dawn to Dusk Nursery in Swanley.

They were called to the scene just after 1pm.

A police spokesman confirmed officers managed to talk the woman down to safety.

But they remain at the scene and have closed St Mary's Road as a precaution.

The woman was not arrested.

A statement on the nursery's Facebook page says: "Please do not panic, all children are safe and well.

"They are all being taken good care of by our highly trained staff within the nursery building.

"We would like to inform you that police are in the immediate area pursuing two young people that they deem NOT dangerous.

"The police have assured us that the children are not at risk or in danger from these people.

"We are in constant contact with the police.

"We have been informed that the police have the situation under control.

"If you would like to speak to staff please do call, but appreciate they are putting your children first."
