DARTFORD'S longest-running pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a record breaker. Bosses at The Orchard theatre have been "thrilled" with this season's ticket sales and the public's response to the Jim Davidson-produced show.

The six-week run was the last in the three-year contract for the comedian's company.

Pulling in the crowds at this year's Dartford Messenger-supported show was actress Letitia Dean, better known as Sharon from EastEnders. Marketing manager, Beverley Davies said: "It was a record breaking run with Jim Davidson once again providing a superb production with an all-star cast.

"It ran for one week longer than in the past and we thank the Dartford Messenger for its continuing support. The cast were sorry to leave in the end and look forward to having the opportunity to work in Dartford again."

The contract for the 2002 pantomime is under consideration, but The Orchard hopes to have another top-quality show. Ms Davies added: "We are planning to maintain the high standard of shows in the coming years."
