Man dies after being hit by train at Farningham Road railway station

A man has died after being hit by a train at a village railway station.

British Transport Police (BTP) and ambulance crews were called to Farningham Road in Sutton at Hone at 8.16am and the man was found at 8.35am.

He has not yet been identified and his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A BTP spokesman said: "Officers are working to establish the identity of the person, and inform their next of kin. The coroner has been notified and BTP are conducting an investigation in to the events surrounding this incident."

Southeastern has been running a replacement bus service between Rochester and London Victoria due to the incident.

The buses are running between Swanley and Strood and tickets are being accepted on the London Underground to help travelers reach their destination.

All lines through the station were blocked until just gone midday.
