Police are searching the River Darent in Dartford in the hope of finding missing Sarah Wellgreen from New Ash Green

Police are searching a river for Sarah Wellgreen who has not been seen for two weeks.

Specially trained marine search unit officers are trawling through the River Darent in Dartford Town Centre in relation to the hunt for the missing mum-of-five.

Police on Wednesday revealed the search is now being treated as a potential murder investigation.

And yesterday they renewed their appeal for CCTV and dashcam footage which may help their investigation.

The search started from next to Dartford County Court, Home Gardens. Officers and are likely to be searching for the next few hours and could continue the river search tomorrow.

Officers also taped off Scratchers Lane near Fawkham, which runs parallel to the M20 as part of the investigation.

That stretch of road has now been re-opened to traffic.

Ms Wellgreen was last seen on Tuesday, October 9, in the Bazes Shaw area of New Ash Green.

Police revealed she was not reported missing until Thursday, October 11, two days after she was last seen.

Her phone is the only item missing from her home and she left her car there.
