A police investigation is underway after a car reportedly travelling in the wrong direction crashed into two lorries on a slip road off the M25.

The accident happened at 10.15pm on Friday on the A2 slip off J2 of the east-bound M25.

Eye-witnesses say a hatchback vehicle was embedded between two lorries coming down the slip road.

A woman was taken to hospital as a result of the smash.

Highways England said the road was closed and emergency services were sent to the scene. It reopened just after 11pm.

This morning, (Saturday), a police spokeswoman said the accident involved a car and two HGVs and confirmed it would be investigated.
