Two people were injured in a serious crash on a busy motorway slip road.

A van and a motorbike were involved in a collision on the A2 westbound on the slip road for the M25 J2, for Dartford and Bluewater at around 6.20pm last night.

The motorcyclist was knocked from his bike and when the driver of the white Mercedes Vito van went to his aid, he was hit by a car - a white Audi A3.

Police, paramedics and two crews from Dartford fire station were on the scene.

Motorists experienced long delays, as the road was shut for almost two hours.

It reopened at around 8.35pm, although Highways England said traffic was clearing slowly.

A police spokesman said yesterday: "Officers are currently at the scene along with SECAMB. Injuries have been reported.

"A partial closure is currently in place on the slip road while the incident is dealt with."

It comes after motorists on a different stretch of the M25 were held up by a crash.
