ASDA is creating 60 distribution jobs in Dartford. The supermarket chain has announced it will be recruiting 1,250 warehouse and driver jobs across the country.

It confirmed that about 60 would be at the depot off Galleon Boulevard, Crossways Business Park, Dartford. A further 60 will be on offer across the river at its depot in Thurrock, Essex.

Asda said the recruitment drive, and the construction of two new distribution centres, was the result of customer demand.

The store group - part of American-owned Wal-Mart - said 500 warehouse jobs and 200 drivers were needed in 21 distribution centres nationwide, including Dartford and Thurrock.
