A 67-year-old man who was assaulted and robbed on his way home after a night out could lose his sight in one eye.

The Asian victim was walking along Priory Road in Dartford shortly after 10pm Thursday when the attack happened. He had been at the town's working men's club in nearby Essex Road.

Police say he was pushed to the ground by two people before being punched and kicked. The pair also took his wallet, which contained cash.

Emergency services were called by a passing member of the public and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment. A police spokesman said: "There is some concern that he may lose his sight in one eye."

Anyone with information is urged to call them on 01474 366212 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
