Charlton v Manchester United

CHARLTON welcome Premiership heavyweights Manchester United on Sunday hoping to rectify their recent poor form.

United arrive at The Valley desperate to pip arch-rivals Arsenal for second place in a bid to avoid competing in next season’s Champions League qualifying round.

They will be confident of taking all three points against an Addicks side who have won just one of their last 10 league matches.

But Charlton assistant manager Keith Peacock believes the strength of the opposition could work in his side's favour.

He said: "At this stage we would far rather be playing a club like Manchester United than say, one nestling in mid-table. I think it will be a terrific game with all the pressure on United as they reach for that second place.

"If we played them 10 times, you would expect them to win nine maybe. But this is one off and I would expect our players to be a lot more relaxed.

"It goes without saying that we want to put points on the board before the end of the season, so with games against United, Chelsea and Crystal Palace coming up there is still plenty to play for."
