She even once organised such an event at the Royal Albert Hall, in London, and has also led sessions in Danson Park, in Bexleyheath and a competition at Southport, near Liverpool.

Sheila will now spend more time with her family

Mrs Still, 72, is married to David, 76, and the couple have two sons and four grandchildren and live in Bexley Village.

Mrs Still said: “I am taking time for myself while I am still young enough to enjoy it.

“I am going to spend more time with my husband and my family, especially the grandchildren.

“I will continue to dance, but no longer teach so I don’t have to worry about all the preparation.

“I have loved every minute of it and I will miss teaching very much, but it is time for me and my family to spend time together. I’d like to thank everyone who has come along to my classes over years, I have made so many lovely friends.”

Mrs Still and her husband also intent to spend more time going on holidays in their motorhome.
