Three cars and a lorry have crashed on a major route out of the county this morning leading to three-mile tailbacks.

The collision happened on the London-bound carriageway of the A2 near the B255 Bean Interchange at about 7.30am.

It has caused up to three miles of queueing traffic and congestion into Gravesend.

All lanes have reopened following the incident but drivers are being told to expect delays.

Police spokesman James Walker said: "We were called at 7.21am to a collision reported to involve a lorry, three cars and a motorbike on the London-bound A2 near Bean.

"Officers are in attendance and the involved vehicles are on the hard shoulder.

"The ambulance service are also in attendance and at present no serious injuries have been reported."
