Tony Burman wants Dartford to match the desire of Blue Square Bet Premier's struggling sides

Dartford have been warned to shake off their inconsistencies over the last four weeks of the season.

While the Darts have a formidable record against the top teams in Blue Square Bet Premier, their points haul against those battling relegation is measly.

Last weekend’s 3-0 defeat at Hyde left manager Tony Burman (pictured) fuming at the players who have proved themselves good enough to scrap with the best clubs in non-league.

Their work-rate returned against Barrow on Tuesday night but the outcome was the same, with the lowly Bluebirds winning 1-0.

On Saturday, Gateshead travel to Princes Park and Burman is keen for his side to reverse the unwanted trend.

He said: "The teams at the bottom are fighting for their lives. They’re going to have that desire and work-rate. If we don’t match that, we’ll be in trouble.

"It shouldn’t change things (where the opposition are in the table) but for some reason it has for us. When we match teams, we’ll get results. It’s not many times I’ve felt let down but it happened on Saturday at Hyde."
