A woman died in the serious fire which closed Brent Lane in Dartford yesterday, it has been revealed.

Kent Police confirmed in a statement that a death had occurred, but the blaze is not being treated as suspicious.

Forensic teams and a fire investigation unit are on the scene to conduct further investigations at the house today, with fire damage still clearly visible on the property’s garage.

The road was closed in both directions from 11.19am yesterday when three fire appliances, an ambulance and Kent Police were all called to the scene, but reopened in the afternoon.
