Woman glassed at Matt's BBQ festival held near A20 London Road in West Kingsdown

A woman had to be taken to hospital after being hit over the head with a glass bottle at a festival.

Officers were called to reports of a serious assault at Matt’s BBQ, near the A20 London Road in West Kingsdown.

It was reported that a row erupted after a crash involving a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a white BMW in the queue.

Following this it is alleged a woman struck another woman’s head with a glass bottle.

It happened at about 6pm on August 14.

The victim, who is in her 20s, suffered a cut to her head that required hospital treatment.

Officers arrested a 29-year-old woman from Woodberry Down, Greater London, on suspicion of assault on the same day. She has since been released pending further investigation.

Investigators are now appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to come forward.
