Woman suffers life threatening injuries after crash

A woman's life hangs in the balance after two cars crashed yesterday.

The smash happened at 12pm in New Barn Road, Longfield, and involved a red Ford Fiesta and a red Vauxhall Corsa .

A woman was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with life threatening injuries and is in a stable but critical condition.

A man suffered serious injuries in the crash and is recovering at the hospital.

Kent Police are now looking for witnesses.

The road was closed for four hours while forensics combed the area.

PC Guy Ditcher of Kent Police's serious collision investigation unit said: "Initial reports suggest a red Ford Fiesta collided with a red Vauxhall Corsa travelling in the opposite direction towards Northfleet along New Barn Road.

"The circumstances of the collision are not known and we would like to hear from anyone that may have seen the incident, or events leading up to it, as they could help us with our investigation."

Anyone who may have seen the collision is asked to phone the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit's witness appeal line on 01622 798538.
