Police officer seriously injured on M25 after bike driven wrong way on carriageway

A police officer was seriously injured in a crash with a stolen motorbike.

Kent Police were responding to reports of a stolen motorcycle when the collision happened near junction 3 for Swanley on the M25.

The bike was being driven the wrong way along the clockswise carriageway.

The officer was flown to a London hospital for treatment after he suffered serious injuries.

The incident happened at atound 4.05pm and a 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of offences including dangerous driving.

Both carriageways were closed but have since reopened.

There is still congestion in the area and drivers are advised to use alternative routes.
