Bradley Wright-Phillips scored twice as Charlton extended their lead at the top of League 1 with a narrow win at to Wycombe.

The Addicks’ second win in four days, coupled with a 2-2 draw for second-placed Huddersfield at Scunthorpe, moved Chris Powell’s side three points clear at the summit.

Wright-Phillips (pictured) opened the scoring on six minutes, turning the ball home from close-range after Yann Kermogant had struck the woodwork with an overhead kick.

Four minutes before the interval, Wright-Phillips doubled the visitors’ lead with his 10th goal of the season, latching onto a Danny Hollands through-ball and finishing well.

Wycombe pulled a goal back just after the hour-mark. Ben Hamer saved from Kadeem Harris but he was powerless to prevent Stuart Beavon turning home the rebound.

However, the visitors held on to claim three points on a night when several of their promotion rivals lost ground.
