Dartford manager Tony Burman must beat the Ryman League’s March 31 transfer deadline if he is to bolster his squad with players capable of earning them a place in the Premier Division play-offs.
Burman, who has refused to pay inflated fees as selling clubs look to cash in on Darts’ big money sale of striker Cody McDonald to Championship club Norwich, wants to bring in two players.
He could make a signing in time for this Saturday’s home game against Harrow.
Burman said: “One target is a player I’ve been interested in for some time and I’ve been prepared to be patient because he’s that good.
“I would also like to bring in another player inside the transfer deadline.
“I’ve got three weeks to do some business and though it’s something of a race against the clock, I won’t be pressured into doing deals.”
With Ryan Hayes (hamstring) and Danny Dafter (ankle) still sidelined, Burman is keen to bring new faces in. Darts, who have drawn with strugglers Hastings and Margate in their last two games, face another side fighting for survival in Harrow at Princess Park.
“They are another side desperate to stay in the Premier Division and they will not make it easy for us,”said Burman.
