Dartford manager Tony Burman hoping to win at home for first time in four months in Vanarama Conference clash with Altrincham on Saturday

Manager Tony Burman isn’t convinced Dartford deserve to be staring relegation in the face.

Darts are 10 points from safety in the Vanarama Conference ahead of back-to-back home games.

They play Altrincham at Princes Park on Saturday (3pm), followed by Gateshead on Tuesday (7.45pm).

It’s more than four months since Darts won at home – a run that has to end over the coming days if Burman’s men are to keep survival hopes alive.

He said: “This league is ruthless. “There have been good performances this season, regardless of what anyone else has said.

“We’ve played good football and in some games we’ve been excellent but we haven’t had the results we’ve deserved.

“We’ve only won seven games – which isn’t right – but it’s the draws that have hurt us. We’ve drawn 12 games but we had the lead in a lot of those games.

“They say the league never lies but we’re a better group than we were last year.

“If you change three or four of those draws into wins, the table looks different.”
