Charlton hold pitch inspection

There is a pitch inspection at The Valley ahead of their home game against Cardiff

Charlton will hold a pitch inspection at noon on Friday in advance of Saturday's home game against Cardiff City.

Although The Valley pitch, which is covered in snow, is not seriously affected, the club are concerned by the weather forecast.

"Unfortunately, the predicted heavy rain has not materialised and the forecast suggests there will be around three hours of snow in SE7 around 6am on Friday," said club operations director Mick Everett.

"With temperatures predicted to reach minus four on Friday night we are concerned about freezing conditions.

"The last thing we want is supporters travelling in treacherous conditions."
