Dartford have made their first new signings of the summer.

Centre-half Kenny Clark and midfielder Max Cornhill are both stepping up to play Conference Premier football after joining from Chelmsford City.

Clark, 24, spent two years in the Dagenham & Redbridge youth set-up before moving on to Thurrock. He joined Chelmsford in July 2011 and was named player of the year in his first season at Melbourne Park.

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Cornhill helped East Thurrock United to the Ryman League Division 1 North championship in 2010-11. He went on to make his name as a goalscoring playmaker in the Clarets midfield.

A club statement said manager Tony Burman "had been impressed with both players over the past few seasons and after speaking to them, was also impressed with their desire to play at a higher level."

Dartford now have 10 players signed up for next season, which will be their second in the top flight of non-league football.
