Dartford showed real character on Tuesday night when they came from two goals down to win at Concord.

Lewis Taaffe’s second-minute strike put Darts on the back foot in Essex and although they steadied the ship, a second goal followed on the hour mark.

Slack defending was again punished by Taaffe and that had Dartford rocking but Andy Pugh opened his account for the season with a deflected strike seven minutes later.

Pugh levelled things up five minutes from time with a curling shot into the top corner and the drama didn’t end there.

Tom Bradbrook stepped up to complete the comeback in stoppage-time with his fourth goal in three games to the delight of manager Tony Burman.

He said: "We were a litle bit sloppy in the first couple of minutes and we conceded a goal which made the game difficult.

"The guys worked themselves back into the game and were good enough to have come in level at half-time. We caused them more problems than they caused us and their keeper pulled off several good saves.

"In the second half we felt we could get something out of the game but unfortunately there was another self-inflicted error and it got punished.

"At 2-0 their heads could have gone down, being a young side, but they battled away and after 65 minutes our fitness told. We were a lot fitter than Concord and that helped in the latter stages.

"It was good to see Pughy score his first goal and he followed it up with an outstanding finish.

"Credit to the players because they kept going and Tom won it with a really good finish."
