Dartford have what it takes to match Ebbsfleet and the rest of the promotion pack in National South this season.

That’s according to skipper Elliot Bradbrook, who will start his eighth season at the club when Wealdstone visit Princes Park on Saturday.

Bradbrook, 31, said: "I don’t play football to come mid-table, I want to win games and be successful. That’s got to be the goal.

"I don’t think there’s any point trying to hide that. We should at least expect to be challenging in the play-offs.

"It’s hard to look past Ebbsfleet again, although we’re in better shape as a team this year than we were last year.

"For us to have been that close to Ebbsfleet (across two games) last year, it shows you
it’s not all about money. It’s how you are as a team.

"They were unlucky not to go up last year. They’ll be looking to do exactly the same thing this year and we’ve got to match that. I’m sure we can.

"Chelmsford are going to be good this year and Margate are doing some things as well but all I care about is that we’re up there challenging.

"Money doesn’t guarantee you success and we’ve seen that elsewhere.

"We’ve got some good players and I’m looking forward to it."
