Tony Burman wants to keep Danny Mills at Dartford until the end of the season.

Mills’ loan from Ebbsfleet expires at the end of January but the Darts boss has plans for the striker beyond that.

Burman said: “We’re keeping in contact with Ebbsfleet and hopefully we can sort something out so Danny can stay with us.

“We’ve still got to have some conversations with them but I’d love him to stay until the end of the season.

“He’s been superb in the way he’s been with us. He’s come into the changing room and he’s a real good lad.”

Mills has started the last few games alongside Andy Pugh with Alfie Pavey and Duane Ofori-Acheampong coming off the bench.

“I’ve got four quality strikers,” Burman said. “All right, one’s been out for most of the season but that’s a strike force and I’d love to be able to keep all four of them.”

Keeping all of his forwards happy is a challenge but Burman said: “You do what you think is right on the day and the players who may not be involved have to respect that decision – and they’ve been great on that.

“It’s been good to work with players who see it in a professional manner.

“You want them all to play but you just can’t do that. You have to do what you think is right and that’s what I’ll continue to do.

“It’s good to be able to change things from the bench but it doesn’t always work. On Saturday we changed it, got the other two guys on and it didn’t quite come off for us.

“But if I can keep the four together, it would be a great challenge for us going on until the end of the season.”
