Dartford have made defender Josh Hill their latest summer signing.

The big centre-half spent last season at Welling and played in their play-off final defeat at Woking.

But Hill's now agreed a move back to the club he left more than five years ago.

Dartford joint-manager Jamie Coyle said: "Josh was at Welling last year and scored against us on Boxing Day.

"He's someone who offers a real threat from set-pieces that we need to add to our ammunition as a club.

"He’s played in two play-off finals in the last two years so he’s got that experience now and he’s a good age at 27."

Hill's Braintree side knocked Dartford out of the play-offs in 2018 and he's also got National League South experience with St Albans, Chelmsford and Boreham Wood.

"Josh has had a good career," Coyle said. "He’s been in sides that have been pushing for promotion in at least the last two or three years.

"I remember watching him against Dartford when he was at Braintree in the semi-final last season and thought he was outstanding against Duane Ofori-Acheampong and Danny Mills.

"Him and Marc-Anthony Okoye did really well, the two centre-halves for Braintree, and he did really well against us last season.

"The season before, he had a successful year with Braintree getting promoted.

"He’s got a good CV, he’s an experienced player and it’s something we need to add in terms of a little bit more competition to what we’ve already got in the team."
